Have you seen the Queen's Gambit on Netflix, and reckon you're the next Beth Harmon? Or maybe you've caught some of the PogChamps Chess tournament for YouTubers and thought you'd like to give it a try? If so, you're in luck.
The Setanta Chess Club will make its long-awaited comeback this Monday (01/03/2021), but with a pandemic twist: instead of our usual over-the-board games, everything we do will be online.
You only need to do two things to join: Create a Lichess.org account, and email Mr. Ludden your username. You will then be added to the club and can enter any of the competitions set up between now and the end of the year.
Our plan at the moment is to run a tournament every Monday at breaktime and have a whole school tournament at the end of the year to crown our next Colaiste Pobail Setanta King or Queen of Chess. Updates will be posted on this page, so keep an eye out for your name here in the near future.
We're looking forward to seeing you there!
