Student Mentors
The Mentor programme is a big-brother/big-sister programme, established in 2009 in our college and has been running ever since. It is part of the Tús-maith programme which aims to make the transition of 6th class students from primary school to secondary school much easier.
In May each year, the 1st year mentors facilitate workshops with the 6th class students in our feeder schools. The incoming 1st years then visit our college in May to meet with their year head, tutors, mentors and their classmates where they will get the chance to ask any questions they may have about the school, subjects and the structure of the school day etc.
Mentors will be available to our incoming 1st years throughout their first year in the college to answer any questions or queries they may have. They are easily identified by the ‘Smiley Face’ badge worn on their school uniform. The Mentor programme and our school Mentors are an integral part of our college for all the help they provide to our incoming 1st years each year.
