PE Department News.
PE STRAVA COMPETITION
Well done to all the students competing in the Strava competition during their PE classes and beyond as they attempt to win a class prize for their efforts. The closing date has been extended to Friday 5th March so even if you haven't had a chance to move yet you still have 2 weeks to do so and help your class win their own Setanta half zip PE tops.
Students individual contributions also go towards their semester 2 assessments so make sure you have those targets in mind when you walk/run/cycle. Best of luck and make the most of the longer days to get a break from the screen and get those legs moving.
Solution Talks.
I have included a piece from John Sharry of Solution Talks that you may find helpful at this time.

In this talk, I will provide practical ideas on how to balance the demands of ‘home schooling’ primary school children while trying to work, and keep the whole family going during this challenging time. Please note that this is being hosted by Cavan Libraries, so enquiries and booking information are available here only.
‘Technology, social media and family life’ Talk supported by Galway Libraries and Healthy Ireland Thursday 11th March 7:30pm Technology and screens now dominate family life, and this is especially the case since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Please note that this is being hosted by Galway Libraries, so enquiries and bookings are available here only.
