Senior Prefects

This is a link to the application form for Senior Prefects to your tutor group https://forms.office.com/r/4SJHZAp8Qp

Role of Senior Prefect

Prefects are appointed only for our senior years. Their selection by management and staff reflects the maturity, responsibility, co-operation, and work ethic which these students have displayed during their junior years. It is also recognition of the potential for leadership. Prefects are ambassadors for the school. Their function is to represent the student cohort at both in school and out of school functions.

A Senior Prefect is expected to give good example in class and around the school regarding school rules, behaviour, punctuality, uniform, etc. They are asked to be alert for vulnerable students and potential difficulties; to notify the principal of any breakages or damage to school property etc

The application deadline is Friday 19th November.

Many thanks,

Susan O’Donovan

School Transport Scheme

Dear Principal,

I wish to bring your attention information on the School Transport Scheme for the benefit of your Open night.

Under the terms of the Post-Primary School Transport Scheme, children are eligible for school transport where they reside not less than 4.8 kilometres from and are attending their nearest school as determined by the Department/Bus Éireann, having regard to ethos and language. While it is the prerogative of parents to send their children to the school of their choice, eligibility for school transport is to the nearest school / Post Primary Centre and it is important that parents are aware of this eligibility criteria.

Applications for school transport can be made online at www.buseireann.ie/schooltransport and must be submitted before the last Friday in April . It is important that applications for school transport are made on time as late applicants are not guaranteed a service under the terms of the scheme.

Further information or clarification may be obtained by parents contacting their local Bus Éireann School Transport office.

Your support in making this information available to parents is appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Bus Éireann School Transport

School of Distinction Mentor/Mentee Programme for 6th Years

Hi all,

This is a message to say a huge thank you to all the mentors who have met their mentees this week.

The feedback from students has been brilliant and they value all your support.

We know everyone is busy coming up to exam week, but we would appreciate it if you could meet your mentees before exam week if you did not get an opportunity to yet.

Have a lovely weekend 😊

Shoe Box Appeal

Hi All,

All you might know I volunteer in the shoebox centre for the Christmas appeal where we check all the shoeboxes , if they don't have enough item in them, we add them , we are really low on the following item so if you were doing a clear out id really apricate it.

  • teddy bears (we like each box to have one, so we need thousands )
  • clothes - these can be second hand
  • Jewellery
  • balls
  • toys
  • school supplies
  • soap, toothpaste, toothbrush , face cloth, hairbrush
  • Sweets (not chocolate )

So really anything that can fit in s shoebox I’ll take, I will leave a box in the staff rooms or if the bags are so big, they don't fit in the box (hopefully!!!) you can drop them down the back of my art room.

Thanks a million

And thanks to everyone who has done a shoebox to date or encouraged their tutor group to do them
