Whole School Initiatives

CPSetanta Heroes

Due to the success of last year’s CPSetanta Heroes we will be running this again this year. We have created a form for the students and staff to fill out whereby they or you can nominate someone who has done something nice for someone or their community. We are going to read out some of the nominations over the intercom at the end of every day. Let’s make a big deal of our everyday heroes!

Support Hub – Week 6 – 11th to 15th October

The college will be running a new initiative called Support Hubs this year as part of our School Self Evaluation. The aim of our Support Hubs is to provide students with support in a part of the curriculum the subject departments have identified as a key area or skill, that students may have missed out on during the last two years as a result of the pandemic.

Subject departments have been preparing for the first Support Hub week which will take place starting Monday 11th October which will see all year groups across all subjects take part in the initiative.

Students Setting Targets, 2nd Year Maths.

We are now entering week 5 of the 1st semester and our 2nd Year Maths students have been reflection on their work, their results, and their learning for the past 4 weeks. They have been asking themselves the key questions, What am I learning, Why am I learning it and How will I know that I have learnt it. It is important that parents and guardians support our students as they strive to learn this “non-academic” skill of setting meaningful and sustainable targets for their learning. In week 7, the 2nd year maths students will set targets for their Semester 1 assessments, and these will be recorded on VS Ware.

Senior Cycle Options Evening.

Wednesday 6/10/2021 will see the College host a virtual Senior Cycle Options Evening. Please visit our website for details.

Staff Meeting 7-10-21

Classes will finish on Thursday 7th at 2:00 to facilitate a staff meeting from 2:30 to 4:00.

On Monday 11/10/2021, our photographer, Vincent Cahill, will visit the College to take the headshots of our 1st years for VS Ware. Please ensure that all 1st Year students have full uniform, not tracksuit, on that day for their head shots and class photos.

Staff headshots will be taken that day also to create a staff group photograph and to replace headshots on the Staff Wall that are more than 4 years old.

Anti-Bullying Workshops

On Tuesday 12-10-2021, Monica Roe will deliver anti-bullying workshops to our 1st year students. This is a very important event in the school calendar that every 1st Year class has taken part in over the years. It is a key event in our campaign against bullying in the college.
